Happy New Year 2009!

Posted in Site News on January 1st, 2009 by Ho – 4 Comments

Welcome to 2009, everyone! As we ring in the new year, how are you thinking of improving yourself for the coming year? Are you thinking of becoming a more confident, dynamic person? What resolutions are you thinking of this year?

For me, this year will bring a lot of content to both this site and its sister humor site, phailpail.com. I intend to write about many aspects of self-confidence and provide confidence boosting tips that will help you in your quest to become the person you’ve always wanted to be. Content planned for this year include in-depth guides into learning skills and hobbies as a way of boosting self-esteem, highlighting confident figures in the real world and in imagined worlds - and heck, maybe a little bit of controversy thrown in here and there ;)

Related to that, I should announce right now that the update schedule to this site will be slowed down to about once or twice a week, because school is starting again. However, there is much for me to share here, rest assured that I’m not going anywhere!

Please share your plans for 2009 here! :)

Here’s the deal - if you’re reading this, there’s a fair chance that you’re a geek. Heck, there’s a fair chance that you feel somewhat lacking in the confidence and self-esteem department as well.

Well, don’t fret - that’s what this site is here for! Let me begin by saying that I, myself, am a geek of the first order. I am a science graduate student, an avid video-game player, a manga reader, a bad movie fanatic, a prospective D&D player, a compulsive blogger… and some even say that I read fanfiction. I know, the horror of it just cannot be contained.

And yes, there was a time in my life, a few years ago, that my confidence and self-esteem was at an all-time low. But, over the years -  I grew, I reflected and I applied everything that I learnt. The fact of the matter is, I’m much, much more confident about myself than I was before. I’m not going to climb tall buildings half-naked and using only my arms and legs, mind you - but I’m no longer shy and withdrawn, either.

This blog is here to help you in your transformation into a healthy, self-adjusted, confident member of society. I hope you find the articles here thought-provoking and useful - and I hope that one day, you can wake up knowing that everything is well and good within yourself, and that you’re the most confident geek you know.
